Are you a science, engineering, technology, or math teacher or graduate student looking for a great summer job? Do you have a passion for working with children? Do you enjoy hands-on STEM projects and experiments?

Wow! Science Camp® is an academic enrichment program dedicated to promoting children’s interest in science. We offer hands-on science experiments and projects, activity-based math, educational games and simulations, educational LEGO activities, STEM career review, and thrilling weekly field trips. Our afterschool programs run for various intervals throughout the academic year. Our summer camp runs for eight weeks every summer. Children between the ages of 5 and 14 are eligible to participate in the program.

Specific responsibilities:
 Prepare for and implement daily STEM experiments and projects (project types and instructions are provided) 
 Prepare and deliver math lessons using supplied materials
 Prepare and deliver money management and etiquette lessons using supplied materials
 Serve as chaperone on field trips
 Supervise all assigned aspects of campers' day, including classroom clean-up, meal times, projects, and preparation for next day’s activities
 Comply with camp policies and standards of conduct

Essential skills and experience:
 Good character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, high energy, sense of humor
 Experience with coding, LEGO Mindstorms a plus
 Minimum of 4-year college degree, preferably in a STEM field
 Minimum of one-year teaching, mentoring, or tutoring experience
 Effective interpersonal and communication skills

Are you a science, engineering, technology, or math major looking for a great internship opportunity? We offer four to ten weeks of paid internship that includes numerous STEM projects and exciting field trips for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. Put your talent to use by working with a Camp Instructor  and campers to demonstrate why every young person should be excited about science.

Specific responsibilities:
• Work with the Camp Instructor to set up each STEM project.
• Assist in coordinating other camp activities and plans.
• Participate in weekly program evaluations.
• Conduct daily check of program area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
• Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed, with the approval of the camp director, ensuring timely arrival of materials.
• Teach and monitor proper use of equipment.
• Assist in conducting initial and end-of-season inventory, storing equipment and keeping it in good condition.
• Assist in packing all materials and supplies when the season ends.
• Serve as a chaperone on field trips.

Essential skills and experience:
• Desire and ability to work with children
• Ability to accept guidance and supervision
• Ability to teach skills to campers of all ages
• Good character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
• Minimum of high school diploma
• At least eighteen years of age

Wow! Science Camp® welcomes families of campers, retirees, college students, and other individuals who support our mission and core values and have a desire to work with children to volunteer at our camp. You can volunteer as a chaperone on field trips or a helper at the camp. You can assist with coordinating lunch, co-supervising campers during breaks, making copies during lessons, or providing supplies to classrooms.
